There are many lists of files in the registry.  Often filenames get added to these lists and then when their programs are deleted, the entries remain, entries that point to nowhere.  File Lists Vac searches through these lists and compares the filenames to the actual files on your harddrive.  If a file does not exist, the entry in the registry is deleted.

You can check which catagories of File Lists to clean:  Known Drivers, Static VxD, Open GL Drivers, Shared Drivers, Startup, Help, Fonts, AppPaths, Extensions, HTML Help, and Installed Files.

Click on the "Clean the File Lists" button to clean the checked catagories.

The "Clean the File Lists as part of Automated Scans" checkbox lets you include the File Lists Vac in the automated scans.
